What is a bedside crib
A bedside crib is a baby sleeping solution designed to attach securely to a parents bed, allowing safe co sleeping while keeping the baby in a separate.
I have a high bed. Which is the highest bedside crib in the UK?
The Huddle is the highest bedside crib on the UK market. It is designed to fit beds where the top of the parents mattress is between 50.5cm and 78cm high, measured from the floor, to the top of the parents mattress. The 12 cm fixed barrier on the drop down side, must be level with the top of the parents mattress. IMPORTANT For safety reasons, the 12cm barrier must not be higher than the top of the parents mattress.

What age is the crib suitable for?
From birth to approximately six months. When your child is able to roll, sit, kneel or pull itself up, the Huddle should no longer be used as a crib, bedside crib or bassinet. This is usually at around the age of 6 months, but differs from child to child. However, at this point the Huddle can be transformed into a desk and bench which can be used by your child for up to another 12 years!
Is a bedside crib safe for newborns?
Yes, bedside cribs are designed for newborn babies up to around the age of six months. As soon as baby is able to roll, kneel, sit, or pull themselves up, they should be moved into a traditional sized crib. Read the safe sleeping section of this website for more information.
Are bedside cribs NHS recommended?
Yes bedside cribs, also known as next to me cribs or co sleeping cribs, are considered a safe and recommended option by the NHS and also The Lullaby Trust. They allow baby to be within reach for feeding and comforting while sleeping in their own separate firm and flat space, which is advised for the first six months to reduce SIDS risks.
Do I need to purchase a conversion kit, to change the crib into a desk and bench?
No you do not. No extra parts are required or costs incurred, to complete the conversion. Simply reconfigure the crib components as shown in the instructions to create the desk and bench.
What is the crib made from ?
European beech sourced from sustainably managed forests. We have kept the use of plastics to an absolute minimum in line with our ethos of encouraging sustainability.
What safety checks have you done?
The crib and mattress have undergone rigorous testing to meet the relevant British and European standards. In particular the crib has been tested and certified to BS EN 1130:2019.
The mattress has been tested and certified to EN 61890 and BS 5852. Full testing of paints, varnishes and fabrics used in the crib has been completed, and meets all necessary safety standards for baby products.
Do you deliver outside of the UK?
We deliver to the UK. Presently we do not deliver outside of the UK. Different delivery rates and times apply depending on your location. Please refer to our delivery page.
Do you accept returns ?
Providing the product has not been removed from the packaging and not assembled, and the packaging is in good condition, we can accept returns. The cost of returning the item will be calculated on a case by case basis, and the customer will be responsible for the collection costs.
A refund will be provided once the item is returned to us and has been inspected to ensure it meets the above criteria. Huddle reserve the right to make the final decision regarding this.
